this was a uni brief in which we had to create illustrations and a cover page from a short story. i decided on ‘the velveteen rabbit’ by margery williams, as i really loved how playful and sweet the story was.

i wanted to focus on the magic and wonder in the story, so there are abstract backgrounds and floaty objects to represent the supernatural and magical vibes.

the final image, where the rabbit finally becomes ‘real’, is when everything becomes reality, and therefore doesn’t have an abstract aspect.
